Grinch Sphere Amigurumi Pattern
In this tutorial, we will make a charming Grinch sphere, complete with a signature mischievous expression and a festive Santa hat. The finished ornament is perfect for the holidays and is sure to add character to your seasonal decor.
Pattern Highlights
- Perfectly Round Grinch Head: Worked in the round with increases and decreases for a smooth sphere.
- Detailed Grinch Face: Features embroidered eyebrows, eyes, nose, eyeliner, and signature smile.
- Classic Santa Hat: Includes increases and rounds for a snug fit, finished with a chenille/brim and a bell.
- Decorative Collar: Adds color and finish below the head, with a golden round for holiday sparkle.
- Ready for Hanging: Includes a golden hanging loop.
- Stuffed for Plushness: Firmly stuffed for a crisp, finished shape.
Notes
- All rounds start with a chain for height; this chain does NOT count as a stitch.
- The sphere utilizes the “false X” single crochet for a neater look, though regular sc is acceptable.
- Round counts for the sphere and hat are given for precise shaping; do not skip rounds.
- Safety eyes are carefully installed with additional security using a lighter.
- Embroidery and assembly require attention to finishing and neat closure.
Skill Level
Intermediate:
You should be comfortable with amigurumi basics, simple embroidery, color changes, and working in continuous rounds.
